Hey guys am in abit of bother here really, i have a 206 GTI and have had the abs light on for some time, i thought it may have been the brakes themselves as the discs where low, so i have changed all brakes and discs, still the light remains on took it to a garage to have it plugged into a diagnostics machine but did not come up with any codes?? Now occasionaly when i drive it there is a strange buzzing noise from behind the dash and the brakes dont feel right?? Any help will be great Thanks.

Try a different garage or better still see if someone on here is close by and has PP2000 that they can plug in.
PP2000 map or Mechanic map (not everyone with the equipment is listed so you may need to ask)
What year is the car?
Which area of the dash is the noise coming from?
When you say the brakes don't feel right, what's the difference from before the light came on to now?

the year is 2000 and it sounds like its coming from the passenger side of the dash, when i say the brakes feel odd they feel abit rough like the pedal is pushing back. could this have anything to do with a relay??

The garage probably thought that because he car has an OBD port, their equipment would work.
Does the pedal feel like it's kicking back at you in constant pulses? The sound could be the ABS thinking you have locked up a wheel and it's releasing the brake on that wheel.
Check the rings on the driveshafts are free from cracks and dirt and check the sensors are clean. If all OK then you will need to find someone with the right equipment to pinpoint which wheel the fault its on. Easier and cheaper than guessing and just replacing parts randomly until it's cured.

yeah thats true my wife is meant to be driving it to plymouth tomorrow and im abit worried if i take out the relay will she just have normal breaking

Ive had a look and checked fuses everything seems ok if i take out the 2 large 30 amp ABS fuses will that stop the noise and leave just the normall breaking??

Do not remove any relays or fuses from the abs system. The brake system may become very unpredictable or may lock up in the event of sudden braking. You need to get this to someone who knows what their doing with the right diagnostic equipment. Where abouts are you located?
