You will be surprised just how unreliable german stuff is. Before you buy anything else join the forums for that car and see how much fun the owners of those have - you will be surprise the design defects that also affect german and japanese cars. The grass isn't always greener.
Who makes the injectors on these? Are they Bosch? Is that a German part?

It's a 10 year old car. You can expect some things to go wrong with it.
I would check the engine reliability table published not long ago before believing the hype about 'German reliability'.

According to Warranty Direct's Engine Reliability, the top three are German and 2 Japanese.
Peugeot was 6th from bottom. Last place was MG Rover.
