Just wondering if removing the dials and running the car will cause any problems with errors or speedo faults?

Im planning on changing my LED's but don't want to rush it, I would obviously fill the car up to ensure I don't need the fuel gauge and can use my gps speedo for speed, I drive very slowly anyway so wont be worried about speeding.

Just making sure the car will start and run without issues?

Thanks

We really are getting some odd question on here lately lol. Id probably plan a free weekend to just do it all at once?! A phones gps isn't the best excuse when caught speeding

lol Im far too old for speeding Im usually the one with the queue behind me, I am far from needing an excuse for speeding there is no excuse.

My worry is if something goes wrong and I cant get the dials back in, in time before the car is required. I don't really have such a thing as a free weekend, things do go wrong when faffing about with cars and just need to make sure I can still drive the car without issue just in case

If you remove your speedemeter completely car wil be run. BUT. BUT. BUT. It will not charge your battery when engine running. After your battery die you cant start your car again. Smile

THATS AN ALERT. Charging circuit completed with speedmeters CHARGE led. Both version of 206. Preplexed or multiplexed. If your battery very new and fully charged you can run a short time your car. Smile

really? I drove mine for quite awhile without it.. Suppose it was about 10 miles or so, so the battery would have probably survived that long

Check your battery voltage with voltmeter / multimeter. When car charging its show almost 14.5v but no charing it show 11.5-12v. Smile

Not heard that one before. Might be something to do with the VAN network which the dash warning light takes it power from. You'd be screwed if the warning light blew.

Thanks for the info, we have a Snap-On fancy £1000 charger at work so if I have a problem and have to run the car without, Ill stick it on charge at work each day, Im surprised the alternator charge has anything to do with the dials, but anything is possible with Peugeot!
