Hi the I have just got a 1.4 206 and I found out the clutch was slipping I done what you have to do to see if it is slipping and all is ok only slips when I drive the car but today I went out in it and I just pulled the clutch pedal up and it stoped the slipping how can I fund out if I need a new clutch cable the car is going for an mot 2 most morning any info would help thanks all.

Clutch could be getting too hot, I had the same problem on my old 206, just ask your mechanic at the garage tomorrow see what he says

Been to mot and it passed so one happy man he had a look at the clutch and he took it for a drive and sods law it didn't slip at all so still dont know

problem may be the loose nut behind the steering wheel then.. or if its a cable clutch I would look at the cable. If it stops slipping when you lift the pedal it may be partially seized,,,,, if its a hydraulic clutch then I would opt for lubricating the pedal pivot first.
I am sure someone will come along and tell you which it is... cable or hydraulic

I know it is a cable clutch this is the first time I have had a 206 I normally have fords and can fix them but have no clue on Peugeot s

does the cable creak or appear stiff in operation.... my suggestion... try a new cable first. its the cheapest solution first

Ye, auto-adjusting cable would be highly likely.
