AGH!!! ok my 206 is currently in the peugeot garage had a faulty airbag light....however they have informed me that there is a tiny leak on the head gasket which will cost me £800 on top of the £500 for the other work Sad the car runs fine but has always hated traffic jams ive had it for 3 years now.... im asking for advice is the price likely to be cheaper else where or should i risk it til it actually goes...its 06 plate and only done 56k...i was thinking of selling it before it went into the garage and not planning on spending £1300!!!

Put it this way. I had an mg zr before i bought my gti and that was £350 with a mobile mechanic (but done it myself for £50), I HIGHLY doubt doing it on a 206 would be any different. I think they are taking the p**s at that price mate

There are loads of decent independent garages out there. Peugeot dealers don't make sense for any car that's under warranty still.

I would try a bottle of "steelseal" first.

My dad used it in a golf and it worked.
