Does anyone love/hate their 206? I love the car to bits but I just seem to getting problems upon problems. What is it about these little buggers that makes me overlook all the crap it puts me through?

haha same here. Problem after problem... although there is no love in 'our' relationship. I only keep it purely because any other used car in my price range is going to be equally as crap!

So how do you call it when you chose your pug over another crap car in the end? 
I'm bought by their looks, slick and only side mirrors stick out I think they nailed that golden cut or how they call it 
Previous owner sold it due to problems after problems, but once you get down to the root of the issue and solve it, overtime you become the owner and not just a driver
Important is to know the weak points and prevent disasters way ahead, your pug will reward you in the long run (pun intended):
* Choose good engine (2.0 HDis are bullet proof)
* invest in suspension parts (genuine or poly bushes all 'round) and do 4-wheel alignment
* had no electricity-related problems either, as it's common in other 206s
* service regularly and don't put cheap fuel
* love your car

Seriously, better the devil you know plus I know the timing belt, water pump is all done, clutch is new, things that would no doubt need doing on any other used car (especially timing belt!).
The 2.0 hdi is a great engine in itself. Great for playing/tinkering with too... It is a good car and mines a D-Turbo spec one so it looks good too it just has sooo many weird problems. Probably more my luck than anything though!
Getting the wheels aligned on mine is a joke - every time and every garage has to do it about 5 times before the steering is straight. Easy to say it is another component but like what? All the front end suspension and track rods are new and it did it even before it was changed over. Its things like that which infuriate me. Having problems and fixing them is one thing but getting weird problems that no-one else on google is having and never being able to get to the bottom of them is another...
Like you though, not a single electrical gremlin *touches wood (not that wood)* 9 times out of 10 these are caused by damp getting to the interior loom in my experience with other peoples pugs.

Nice, D-Turbo here as well (though apart from the sticker on wings I don't know how it differs from other 2.0 HDis -- i.e. they all have SP bumpers)
We are veering from love/hate to Problems topic bit by bit so post your worries there, but up-front I say 4-wheel alignment is a must, even with the non-adjustable rear: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...tml#590678
None of the 2-wheel/laser aligners ever got it right, after 4-wheel one it was driving in a straight line that I could have three course meal behind the wheel and foot down. And it costs just twice the price but you save another 4 visits

At the end of the day it's just a tin box on wheels you either offload on someone else / trade in for another newer different tin box OR send of to the recyclers when its finally dead.
5 of the last 6 cars I've traded in at car dealers when changing tin boxes haven't ever been reregistered & gone to scrap

This little 206 of mine is only the second car I've ever owned.
The first car (a Clio RL) went to the scrappy for what I now know to be stupid little problems, and should have been saved. But that, as sledge said, it's the difference between simply driving it, and owning it and came from a time when I just didn't have the first clue about cars.
I won't make the same mistake with this one, which is why it has now been owned for 11 years and, aside from an intimate meeting with a central reservation barrier off a roundabout due to icy conditions, it's only had the normal wear and tear things to deal with.
I also have to say, as much as people go on about the 2.0 HDI engine being good, I can't say as I have anything bad to say about my nominally punched up 1.6. It goes, and it pulls, just not as much as I would really like!
