just been supplied with a Camtec head gasket set for my 1.4 8 valve 206 , the part number is CAM 15-233 however it says on the label 1.1 8v (1986 >)

would it be the same set for the different engines , 1.1. and 1.4

i cant find anything on the internet re the camtec head set and i wanna start re building tomorrow

Evening,

The bore sizes are different so i don't think it would work.
Tu1 (1.1L) is 72mm
Tu3 (1.4L) is 75mm

But if you're about to rebuild why not mock it up on the engine block and see?

Regards, Richard.

Life would be easier with universal jointed arms and fingers sometimes

Thanks Richardeke
I didn't want to open the shrink wrapped packet if I needed to return the gasket set
That's good information you have supplied

I phoned up the supplier (Drakes in Bradford ) and they inform me that the gasket sets are the same , its the 1.0 litre that's different , (there advice not mine) they are an extremely well respected company , this has left me with a quandary .
As Richardeke says, I will now have to open up the set and offer it up to the head and the block , wont be able to do it until later tonight or in the morning
I will report back
Brian

Fair enough, I stand corrected.

Appologies for the misleading advice, I just thought different sizes means different gaskets.

Regards, Richard.

I have measured the bore and the gasket and they are different sizes however when you put the two together ,something is just right. It looks right and it fits right and feels right . All the holes are in the right places. The valves miss the gasket as do the pistons
I am going to use it confident that its correct .
