Hi

I had a bump a year ago and my airbag light stayed on. Nothing deployed, pretensioners didn't fire. Passed MOT but it wont this year as just had it conformed laws have changed for this year and it will be a fail.

Taken it several places and have been advised no fault found. I know this is usually because they are using snap on tools so i'm going to take a gamble and send it off to have any crash data cleared.

I don't want to buy an 'unknown' replacement and I don't have a peugeot planet to check anything. I just want to see if getting the data cleared sorts it. If not then I will take it to someone who knows Peugeots.

Can anyone suggest a place to send my airbag ecu to be reset?

I have a used one out of a 180 that im breaking that i know 100% doesnt have a fault. Would need to know the ecu number though to see if it will fit.

buy this if it fits,It will be better to take a one that have not been tampered with,so having a used one is better Smile

Hi Guys thanks for the responses.

I'm not sure what codes you need but here is a pic of my main ecu and airbag ecu.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
Cheers

I've sent a couple of Ecu's away to be reset. I cannot remember the name though. I found them via Ebay. I paid £20.00 and both times it has worked perfectly.

In my opinion, it is better to remove your Ecu and get it cleared for the small fee. Previously, I've bought Ecu's from different cars and they didn't work. What's to say the replacement isn't from a crashed car?

Pay for the service and put your ecu in a recorded jiffy Bag. You'll get it back after a couple of days. Plug it back in and your light will distinguish automatically.

Peugeot planet/ Diagbox, snap on or any other diagnostic software will not pick any fault code off from a airbag ecu which has crash data stored on it. You'll simply get a solid airbag light. There are no fault codes. You either replace the ecu with a ecu with the EXACT serial numbers or get the crash data removed.

I class myself as being pretty knowledgeable in this subject as I've been there and done it!

Why don't you buy one off ebay? You can pick them up for pennies these days. If it dont work just send it back. If you buy one off ebay and it comes through, if on the sticker there is a bubble send it back for a replacement/ refund as this it's been fired off

EBay is a mine field. The easiest way is to get the crash data removed. It's soooooo Easy and painless. And just £20.00 and you get your original part back.

Another thing, some Ecu's on the later 206's are very very hard to come by.

It worked perfectly, for £20 something you post it Monday, they receive, clear data and return it to you Tuesday, you receive it back Wednesday. Bit of a pain to get out of the car but do-able.

For anyone that has had a bump where the airbags did not deploy and the seat belt actuators didn't lock the belts yet the airbag warning light comes on..... use these guys!! It works.....
