Cheers Luke, and yeah I like it a lot but I am worried about finding myself hoovering puddles dry!
I still have my Simota, still contemplating sticking that airbox at the bottom of the K+N see how it fairs! it will have protection and keep the air cooler but we will see lol!

Im keen to know what you devise as a Simota/KnN mix as my Typhoon has once filled the engine with water and the fiter gets filthy fairly quickly and mud builts up in the top side of the wheel arch moulding where the filter breathes from. As always your pug is mint!

I would need to take a proper look and take apart the Simota,
But my general concept is...
Either;
Literally remove the K+N open cone and add the Simota CAIS in place and cutting a water sock just to the shape of the end of the box (the lip that you can attatch feeds to).
Or the same but depending on how the filter comes apart take the lid off the bottom exposing only the top part of the cone that is inside and adding the water sock around the top half,
So the sides of the filter down to the base where it connects to the Typhoon tube would be enclosed from heat / water, and the top would be covered by the sock,
it wouldn't be 100% proof would depend on the sock however it would suck up alot less water as less suface area would be exposed.
The downsides, I can only assume would be is the car getting enough air as the the manurfacturer applications differ. The simota is mounted high up with an air feed in to the bottom, and the K+N is just a tube to tb and the filter at the bottom.
I would need to test it really.
Thanks for the comment on ze car as well haha

Trialed the Simota Typhoon hybrid' theory *also a great album* and I can confirm it's not a go-er. Not enough space for the Simota CAI to fit so it's me trusting a water sock or off.
Would be a shame to remove it as I like the sound and look but I don't like the feeling of thinking what if it rains. I wonder how effective these water socks are. Surely can't be 100% if fully water proof... I'd not want to cause any issues like.
Anyway what set me off was it rained while I was already out the other day. Didn't go through any puddles as such but my ass was going all the way home *which I did really quickly to get to put it away!

Here is a quick vid last night of a stand start. Not the best in the world but it's aite. Could have been a little quicker if I didn't hit the limiter lol.

Been offered my old ST back by me ma' for a family rate so may be buying that soon, only done 38k since I sold it to her on 26k when I went to uni in 2009!
Could either spell - arrivederci to the pug or I could keep it and start the hobby of track day driving.
Decisions...
Car already has DS running from before - exhaust etc I sold to a mate hmm

Tbh mate I doubt it will go, worth f*** all from what I've seen and I'd not sell it for less than 2.5k standard after viewing quite a few s**t 180's when my mate was in the market for one. It's still lowish mileage at something like 63k.
If I was selling and decided to split it any parts taken off would need to be replaced with perfect stock parts as well and my idea of perfect is fresh out the packet really. So it would probably go as one heap lol!
More than likely if it happens it will be tracked with no additional parts added bar maybe a map and used to keep the mileage on the ST down.
We will see though, still deciding on if I want to blow money on another car atm! Slightly entertained by the idea though, enough so to post it on my thread anyway lol!

f*****g hell I forgot how loud these are with a decat... Sounds ridiculous lol. Litterally I am an easy target for the police. Still, on over run it sounds like a little rally car lol, not bad for 40 delivered brand new!
Scorpion wasn't anywhere near this loud. I'll get a vid soon! Gearbox mount is on as well and new wishbone, going to get the other changed on wednesday and a full geo setup. I'll have to work out when I have the time to get it lowered suffolk is some journey be like a day trip lol.

Hi Jamie, I've been keeping track of your thread for a short while. Just a quick question, what is the purpose of the gearbox mount you're talking about, or is it just a replacement for a worn mount?

Hi mate, it will tighten things up and thus improve drive and handling with the right complimentary mods, still got to get the other mounts yet but it's all good :). I'd imagine it would also help control the surrounding parts better and improve acceleration a tad as you can work the car harder and there is less play.
Here is a vid of the decat poppage!
