Hi all
Having a problem with the standard radio on my 206.
I cannot get any radio stations. When I do a scan it just runs through all the numbers with nothing being stored. CDs play fine.
I have put a really long aerial off a W reg 206 from a scrapyard and can just about get radio 1 and corbyFM 96.3. But nothing else. But again scanning finds nothing and the 2 stations I can just about get have to be tuned in manually.
I have tried another radio (Sony cassette) and go the same. I have taken the aerial of and there' is no rust under the mount. Checked at the back if the stereo and again all is secure.
How easy is it to replace the aerial completely? Is there any kind of test (using multimeter) to see if there is a short or something.

When you tried the other radio, did you explicitly wire up the amp remote or power antenna wire from the unit to the wire in the car that runs along the antenna signal coaxial wire and provides power to the amplifier in the base of the antenna?
You could try measuring that wire up by the antenna with a volt meter...
Since you have a CC I assume you have a front mounted antenna?
IIRC, replacing it involves, removing the interior light and its frame, then sliding off the base of the antenna.This exposes the nut that holds the antenna base in place, undo it. Then it's wire routing.
If you're discarding the one you're removing, just cut it up by the roof and tie/tape the new one to the end and pull through to the back of the radio. If not, tie a string to the antenna wire behind the radio and pull through to the roof, then tie new antenna wire to the string and pull back...
Make sure to disconnect and reattach the wire for power to the antenna amp before pulling - small separate black single wire connector, IIRC.And reattach it afterwards.

Thanks for your help.. I found this connector taped up but can't figure out where it goes in the back of the carillon PU-2471A stereo that I have.

If it's the antenna amp wire, it should join up with/follow the antenna signal (coaxial) wire (been a while since I was back there...) On a non-CC 206 it goes in the dash, up the a-pillar and along the front of the roof to the interior light -on my lhd it goes up the right a-pillar, not sure if it's the same or reversed on a rhd car

That doesn't look like the Antennae to me, The plug should be round and look almost like a tv aerial plug. It's very possible that it was not connected to your stereo when the head unit was fitted. Some aftermarket head units need an adapter to allow you to connect the Peugeot aerial so your aerial lead could be tucked behind the center console somewhere. Its a quite chunky lead in comparison to regular 12v wires. (It looks like a thin co-axial cable.)
Try sticking your hand in behind the stereo cage and having a root around to see if you can find a loose wire.
If you find it and you need an adapter to fit it, they are pretty cheap. I have seen them for sale at prices ranging from £1.50 to £4.99

It's not - you can see the actual antenna (co-ax) wire on the very right of the picture and it looks to be hooked up to the HU (At least it runs towards the right spot on the HU...
The antenna amplifier power wire (plain wire) and the the antenna signal (co-ax) wire should join up together for the run up to the antenna base.
What I don't recall from my car is whether the amplifier power wire ended on its own in a 3-terminal connector like shown or if it was a single terminal connector.

Yes, you are right. I would hazard a bet that the plug Namrood has in his hand there is for the cd multichanger though.

Had a root around inside the hole and there is no other cable. But I still can't get any kind if reception on the radio. I have bought a replacement aerial and still need to try it out, but it have also bought an aerial booster from halfrauds..
It plugs into the back if the HU and then the actual co-ax aerial fits into the booster, you then need to connect up a blue power cable to a live feed on the stereo.
Gonna try and find an audio technician (similar to what halford offer) and see if I can get it all workng.
But gonna install my pioneer sph-da02 double din into the car once it all works
