When my keys are in the position just before you turn the engine on, the lights on the stalk work perfect, OFF, sidelamps, main but when the engine goes on the lights wont turn off. you have main lights in the off position then twist to sidelamps and main again.
WHATS UP???? anyone had this?

Does the car have a rain & LIGHT sensor fitted behind the rear view mirror?
What year of 206 is it as there are 2 totally different electrical systems used but from the fault I guess we are talking multiplexed 206.
1) Either the light sensor is faulty - this will default the headlamps to ON all the time the engine is running.
2) Someone has turned the day time running light setting ON in the BSI configuration set up.
3) You have lost a CAN node - this will also put the headlamps ON.
If it does have the light sensor fitted then turn the auto headlamps OFF & see if they then behave themselves.

SOLVED, WAS JUST THE AUTO LIGHT FEATURE. TODAY I HAD TO DISCONNECT MY BATTERY SO THIS MUST HAVE AUTOMATICALLY PUT IT IN 'AUTO LIGHT MODE'
TO PUT THIS BACK TO NORMAL I JUST TURNED THE KEY INTO THE FIRST POSITION (ACCESSORIES) AND PRESSED THE AUTO IN FOR 4 SECONDS UNTIL I HEARD A BONG
THANKS MATE

Multiplexed 206 needs to be shut down & rebooted correctly.
Disconnecting / connecting the battery without following the correct proceadure risks corrupting the BSI software or at worse frying the BSI unit.

If it's not bold type, it's caps lock.
Glad your lights are fixed, now maybe you could sort out your keyboard.
