Hi all, my 206 1999 1.9D isnt starting, im getting no fuel pressure at the injectors. It has a Lucas fuel pump fitted to the engine, I have removed the diesel stop solenoid and cut the plunger off and refitted so its impossible for that to be blocking the flow, there is no lift pump in the fuel tank just the fuel gauge variable resistor on a float. i have primed the pump multiple times and run the car briefly using brake cleaner spraying it into the inlet. The engine runs with brake cleaner but still no fuel pressure at the injectors. I have removed the fuel filter from its housing so there's no chance that can be blocking flow.

The cars cranks fine, i crank it with two batteries attached so its got more than enough oompph to turn.
Is it possible there is an air lock, what is the correct technique to bleed the fuel system. There is a quarter of a tank of fuel in the tank that I have visually inspected when looking in the tank.

Can i assume that there is no electric pump for fuel and the Lucas fuel pump sucks the fuel up from the tank?

Im a bit stumped so any help would be much appreciated Question

Regards

Sam

No in tank lift pump on the 1.9D

On my XUD i have a fuel primer bulb 'slang term: grenade' which you can prime the system with

Get one of those inline (unless the 1.9 has one already? - i cant remember)

Once you know you have fuel to the pump, pull the return line off and see if there is any fuel spouting out. if not I would say there is an issue with the pump.
