Afternoon All.

After ringing my local peugeot service centre to book my 307cc in for its leaky roof, I was advised that I should use there free inspection service before I book my car in for repair.

The chap on the phone told me that it is a multi-point inspection that will cover a good deal of the car and let me know if there are any niggles.

He assures me that there is nothing to pay, even if they find faults but can this be true the guy told me it takes them nearly 2 hours.

Nobody works for free?

Have any of you here used this service? Are they known to inform you on 'dangerous faults' that really are not that bad.

Any info would be great, just a bit dubious that i will get a phone call on friday letting me know i have all sort of problems that need resolving ASAP.

Thanks all.

Just means that they will give you an estimate to have the fault repaired.
They offer this service for free because the majority of people when they are told about a fault will just say to the garage to get it done. It is also possible that they will find a fault that only the dealer can fix.

Get the inspection done, get a list of what's wrong and then sort what you can out yourself.

Thank for the reply, just dubious as i have had previous with a Audi Centre who just run a list up of so many faults, after various independent inspections half the faults seemed to have vanished.

Thanks.

Yes I'm well aware of the 307 reputation Sad

Shame the CC is such a heavy car, would be good to get some more pull from it.

Ah well, we shall see how the inspection goes friday.

Thanks.

A proper inspection/health check takes me around 15 mins, what the hell are they doing for the other hour and 45 mins!

We call them vehicle health checks. How do you think a dealer makes the most amount of money? We report things that need attention, ie blad tyres, oil leaks etc

Yes you waste 30minutes of time but you could gain alot more work from it
