Hi,

Im due to get the pp2000 etc due to a bit of a missfire in my old 2000 w reg 206, however my car has a citreon engine in it and i do not know what car its from.

My question is will pp2000 pick up this and cause issues or will i be able to use it as normal?

thanks

As far as I remember the head block and sump are identical. All the ancillaries should be for the 206 I used to work in a breakers yard and we sold bare engines all the time

The computer will connect to the ECU, so as long as the ECU is satisfied it knows what the engine is (or thinks it is), then you will be fine. I'd imagine as you can actually drive the car, then the ECU is happy enough.

If you also have the ECU out of the Citroen, then you may have issues - do you know if all your sensors etc are Pug or Citroen?

If they have swapped the ECU and BSI at the same time as the engine, then you may need to use the Citroen Lexia 3 software. This normally comes on the same disk as PP2000, and is just as easy to install on the XP OS machine
If it was just the engine that was swapped out, then you should have no problem with PP2000

Macca,

Sounds good then, I'm gonna purchase a full software, cables and laptop package off eBay due to the simicity of it.

Will pp2000 and or lexia auto find my car when plugged in?

PP2000 is what you would use on a 206.

Peugeot / Citroen, it all comes from the same PSA parts bin Wink

Do you really need to get / spend out on a laptop?

An XP partition would do for the PP2000 install.

I wouldn't worry about installing Lexia unless you want to plug in to Citroen's as well.

Try if you can & get an interface that is already flashed to revision C, its not important for your 206 BUT is important if you start wanting to scan newer PSA products later on or upgrade to Diagbox software.

sensors are mostly stamped with pug & citroen logos .
Aslong as it the same engine most probably all sensors are the same from pug/citroen .

I used c5 sensors on my 206 . All still working sweet . No issues .

Are you sure IRS a Citroen engine? Most parts on the 206 are double stamped. Check the engine code with your logbook to confirm, although this. Ought have been changed. Most people don't bother though with an engine swap.

I can think of at least 1 part used on the 206 that still has the old Talbot logo on along with the Peugeot & Citroen ones Laughing
