Hi, My car had a lot of work done to it recently due to failing MOT and other issues. My mechanic put a 2nd hand rear axle on it but there is a squeak coming from it. it does it when you push the back of the car up a down also. I took it back and he said it is the torsion bar and its just one of those noises you get from old peugeots. it is very annoying. What can be done about it? Is a new torsion bar a option? or can it be greased or something?

A new torsion bar is an option, there not that expensive at all.
Is your mechanic 100% sure its even suspension related? Could just be the space saver cage?! Mine was squeeking until I removed the thing.

sounds like you've got a dry bearing on your axle mate,
not sure if it can be greased without stripping the arm off tho .
if your going to do that I'd change the bearing at the same time, they're not that expensive.

Bearing is cheap and not too bad to do. Its getting to it that's the issue.
