Sounds like it's the heater matrix leaking. Been covered quite a bit over the years, search google or the site for more info about it.

Just been told that if it is the heater matrix the puddle would be water ? It is oily and thick def not water? Vexs what's your thoughts please x

Not necessarily, as you should be using coolant and not water, especially this time of year with the possibility of the water freezing.
Check to see what is in your expansion tank under the bonnet (located top left hand side, clear/white bottle) I would put money on it being coolant in there.
Plus there isn't any other fluid that could be filling your passenger foot well up other than just plain water, which if that was the case would be coming from a leak in a door seal.

In fact let me know what colour the liquid is in the expansion bottle too.
I would guess you have a 1.1 or 1.4 petrol, correct?

Also head gasket could be leaking oil into water. As above check your expansion tank first.

Thankyou both will go and have a look in the expansion tank- I would also hope it's coolant as assume they do that when servicing . If it is oil from head gasket that they only did three weeks ago god help them !! So,if it is coolant and the heater matrix is leaking then the substance in the footwell would make sense ! Update ! Car has spent the day at Peugeot and I have been advised the heater matrix is leaking as is the seal around the gear box and my head gasket ! Head gasket was done by them on the 5th January ! Sooo,lon story short all three things need to be done inc the head gasket that was meant to have been done three weeks ago ! Could the fact it wasn't done /done properly mean that has caused damage to the other two things ? I know I am really cross and now very mistrusting but am again at their mercy and any advice again would be much appreciated x

Head gasket should be repaired free.
As a gesture of good will you should ask for a discount on the labour for other work. This is in recompense for your inconvenience having to bring it back.
Head gasket and gearbox are very unlikely to be related and is probably coincidence but which gearbox seal has failed? I never like coincidence!
Head gasket and heater matrix may be related as a failed head gasket could put extra pressure into the system and cause the matrix to fail. However, the matrix would probably have to have been already weak from age to fail due to this. So yes it is related but probably not root cause but final straw.

Couldn't agree more with this.
The heater matrix going is likely a side affect of the intial head gasket failure and general age of it as kandbarrett stated.
Head gasket and heater matrix is becoming an all to common thing with 206's the older they get im afraid, I guess the good news is yours will be resolved now despite the inconvenience.
If you don't mind me asking how much are Peugeot trying to charge you for it, or what limbs and how many new borns?

Ok being a female and knowing nothing about cars I purchased the extended warranty So depending on the warranty assessors opinion today it should all be covered ! Thank god as apparently it is being assessed as comes to over a grand ! It's more about i was worried about their capability as they said they had done the gasket so my faith in them is now massively reduced 
At least it's probably not all connected which makes me feel better .

The original headgasket repair may have been done properly, and the second failure has been caused by the leaking matrix.
Would be an interesting case to see argued over by experts in court. A bit like the chicken and egg scenario.

Apparently the original head gasket had a faulty seal ,???
Now been told needs a new clutch not under warranty and £133.00
Would this have anything to do with the other work ??

Unlikely - might have just worn over time.
Out of interest, do you know which seal failed on the gearbox?
