Hey guys I've been looking for reference material online for a while now with no luck really!!!

I'm looking for the gearbox on a 405 MI16 fitting a 206 GTI 180/RC engine block.

All the pictures google has showed seem as if they are exactly the same mounting points and the gearbox mount and bushes seem the same to.

Is this me or is it coincidence? I've emailed Spoox but no reply yet, they probably haven't finished laughing yet haha Laughing

Any Ideas guys would be cool Very Happy

So i got a reply from Spoox and they say that the gearbox will match up exactly and will work front wheel drive! I just have to weld and install the rear end and do some tunnel work for the rear

Any particular reason for doing so?

The MI-16 is just an XU10 lump, similar to the GTi-6, but depending on the year will either be a BE1 or BE3 box, either way more than likely to be on a cable clutch set up where as the 180 runs a hydraulic set up.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

I can swap all your internals from one box to other at a cost.
Or even fit the 180 bellhousing to your 405 mid casing
Meaning you would require no hacking about and have whatever is special in your gearbox into another.

Oh dear, the mk1 MI-16X4 transmission Laughing That has some nasty electrical gremlins if I remember rightly, that will be a BE1 box if my memory does work haha.

Could be interesting for the 5 minuites it works Laughing

Speaking of swapping box's around I may have some work for you at some point in the non too distant future as well.

What system did they use on the wrc car? That was an EW10 lump wasn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just thinking about it, where did they get the space from for the transfer box, on the 180 especially I cant think how you'd get the box and the exhaust in there.

What are the issues with the electrics on the 4 wheel drive system, also are there any other issues/weakness'. I didn't know they did a 4 wheel drive system. How good would a 4 wheel drive 206 Gti be! By the sounds of things it would be a bad idea though wih using this system

The 206 WRC didn't use an EW10 engine.

My bad, I stand corrected, so the wrc car was the early mi-16 lump then.
