Hi
I have recently purchased a 206, unfortunately the previous owner lost the remote key fob so I only have a manual key. I have hunted high and low and have found someone on ebay selling new Remote key fobs with unprogrammed transponders and uncut blades.
I found some instructions on the web on how to program the remote + transponder. Before I go ahead with the purchase I was checking that it is possible to do this without the need for computer software? I am hoping I can get the blade cut locally and just program the key by following the instructions I found, is this possible or do I have to buy a key from a main dealer.
I have not posted the links as I am not sure if this is against forum rules.
Cheers
Meeee

It's not just a case of buying a key and transponder and putting it in the ignition, pressing the lock buttton and hey presto it works.
The remote and virgin transponder need pairing to the car using dealer software (PP2000) and the alpha-numeric security code.
The remote can be second hand, but must be the correct circuit board, think there are 5 different ones. The transponder must be new as can only be programmed to one vehicle.
There are loads of threads on here about it, just easier to type a reply because I couldn't be bothered searching.

Thanks for the info, I had a hunt through all the threads very interesting reading. how do I find out which circuit board I need? I am guessing that it is going to be easier to take it to amian main dealer, however I suspect that will be expensive. I would not bother with the remote but my wife's job mean that she is in and out of the car all the time so it would be easier for her to have a remote.
thanks

thanks for the info, So I got a quote from Peugoet to get a new remote key, cost £200.
So I am now thinking I can buy the PP2000 software from China inc Leads for around £40 from aliexpress I just need to buy the blank unprogrammed key, does anyone know where can I buy the correct one from?
Thanks
