I've got a problem with my 2006 1.4 hdi.

It starts and idles absolutely fine, revs up fine in neutral.

When driving under low acceleration through 2k-3k revs (worst is arond 65-70 in 5th on motorway) the engine bogs down, and at the same time puffs out black smoke from the exhaust. After 3k revs the bogging stops, as does the smoking, but it feels down on power.

Anyone had any similar issues?

Your help is much appreciated. Cheers!

Stu

Could be a leaking off atomiser, flooding the combustion space with additional diesel (as can be seen coming out the back half-burnt). Mine did this and it turned out No.3 had a cracked body so was p***ing fuel all the time into the cylinder!
1.6HDi. Pull like a train. Smokes like one too!

Thanks for your help shadow. Is an 'atomiser' the injector or something else?

Cheers
