Hi any advice or help apreciated please

206 1.4 Hdi on 05 plate

car will start and if the revs are kept high it runs fine. as soon as throttle released it dies or after few seconds of running with no throttle it dies.

ran diagnostics on it and when revs kept high to keep it running fuel pressure seemed to be ok and stable.

the low pressure pump in the tank seems to prime constantly once the ignition is turned on ( sure it should only prime for a few seconds before switching off)

so far we have tried the following

Injector leak off test, all about the same so don't suspect it a faulty injector

low pressure pump in tank replaced

high pressure pump replaced

engine compartment fuel pipes, primer and sensor matrix all replaced

fuel filter replaced

front to rear pipes changed

Is the EGR stuck open? Can you get air flow readings whilst it's running?

we did try swapping the egr and it made no difference, but at that point we had not replaced the fuel pipes which we found had a leqak

should have peugeot planet arriving this week so can check more then, will planet give us the air flow readings or is there nother way to get it

also forgot to mention that it has had a compression test done on it and that is fine

MAF sensor could be playing up. Disconnect it and the car will run on a preset. If it's any better shows the MAF is shot.

MAF has already been swapped, but again was done before problem with fuel lines was discovered so will be trying it again

Am thinking that it is something to do with the ecu though as fact that as soon as ignition is on the in tank fuel cup primes continuously rather than cutting off after a few seconds

throttle been swapped as well.

think the car is an end of production one as the fuel pipes in the engine bay seem more like the ones off the 1.6 as does the pump and injector rail. have never come across one with in tank pump meself before either but mate at garage says he has

I've not seen a 1.4 with an in tank pump? Has it had an engine transplant and was really a 2.0 before?

not as far as we know it has always been 1.4, unless it was built at factory as a 2.0 and then they decided to put a 1.4 in it

Put a request out for someone to check on Peugeot service box. Or sign up yourself it's free. Pm macca or a mod and they should be able to help.

I don't even need to log in to Service Box to tell what type of engine it had fitted at factory, just stick the VIN number up, the 206 VIN is easy to decipher Wink
