Hi just wondering if any of you know what's going on with my 206. It is running a bit lumpy on idle and when I get the bite to move off it kills the engine and sounds and feels awful. Just had a full service to see if that fixes the problem but unfortunately not. Had diagnostic returned nothing Confused . No lights on dash. Just bought the car on auction site hills only very minor cosmetic damage. Engine is 1.4 16v.
Any replies would be appreciated.
Thanks Smile

Scan it with Peugeot Planet, the motorised throttle body fitted to this engine is a known problem issue.

Gummed up VVT solenoid - give it a clean.

There have also been several software updates - Peugeot main dealer time for those.

I think it had had a mobile mechanic out due to being off the road and he scanned it with a laptop an the connector had a Citroen Peugeot sign on it. Cleaned the throttle body and VVT Solenoid no joy. Loads of water sprays out the exhaust and it smells rich. It is hard to try and properly understand the problem without me being able to drive it. Thanks for the reply.

Well from what you described,I believe the problem you got is with spark plugs,or a faulty coil pack. which make the car run on 3 or 2 cylinders instead of 4,which explains the rough idle, and engine being killed when you try to move.

That could possibly be the cause because cylinder no 2 around the spark plug is dirty whilst the others are like new and the coil pack on no 2 is sort of dirtier than the rest plus they are ngk spark plugs not bosh which they were when I replaced them. Cheers

if it got scanned with the right tool, you will see the fault codes, and also you can have live data from the ignition coil.

Was scanned with Peugeot planet and came up with nothing. He was saying about the VVT Solinoid is all that he can suggest because it was not responding to revs as it should when looking at live data. Can't get in touch with Peugeot until tomorrow. Hopefully shouldn't be to much. Changed coil pack and replaced plugs with bosh and no difference.
Had scanned today with a fault reader and brought up P0107 and P0113 which I believe to be the MAP Sensor.

Just got scanned by another garage and brought back P0075, p0012, p0013, p0107, p0201, 202, 203, 204. Could the ECU be the cause of all this?
Cheers

How much of the fluid spilling out of the exhaust is fuel and how much is water? have you compression tested? I am thinking bthere could also be a headgasket problem though I haven't cross referenced your codes.

Faulty map could be over fueling or under fueling the engine. Start there
