I've now been told it's likely to be a worn driveshaft. Is that like to cause to the vehicle to pull hard to the offside??
I'm reluctant to start buying any more parts until I can be sure it is likely to correct the issue. Otherwise the cost could just go on and on!....
Any help would be appreciated.

Just in case anyone else wants help with this issue.
It's now sorted. It was as simple as torqueing up the wishbone ball joints VERY tight. When I did this, the play went immediately.
MOT now passed.
The moral of the story, always check what torque settings you need and tighten them accordingly! Embarassed
