Could do with some help please guy's. I have a GT but the central display has packed up, and the mileage disappeared along with a wayward fuel gauge on the main instruments. I have sent them to a company in Enfield who led me to believe they could repair them....alas they have been stumped. I could do with some advise on what to do next please....it's a totally mint car other wise and I don't want to be beaten by this. Thank you.

Hmm tricky one. If u change the milage clocks it won't remember your car's original milage.

I'm in Norfolk. In Dereham. Have a 180

Yep tried them.... Not very enthusiastic but will take the clocks over and see what they may have. I get the impression it's too old for them now.
Would be a shame to lose the mileage but looks strange with no mileage! Have spoken to a couple of places but no luck so far. None of the breakers seem to have any GT's left anymore either. Hopefully some kind soul on here may have the answer?
Yes I'm south Norfolk ....am trying to get it to the open track days on Wednesday evenings at Snetterton but keep having problem after problem. I should be an easy spot when I do finally get it back on the road as it's probably the only GT left on the road and it's in the full WRC livery from 1999. I like it but it does stand out...only a toy so I guess that's the fun of it!

A non plexed GTI is basically the same spec for instrument panel & clock display.

There is a part you can swop over in to the replacement instrument cluster to keep your cars correct mileage, I'm pretty sure the details are posted on the forum somewhere if you have a search.

Both the display & instrument cluster are well know failure points on the non plexed 206s like your GT.

Id be tempted to find good working 2nd hand units for both & then find the post that shows how to keep your original mileage - its buried on the forum somewhere, I know someone on here has done it in the past.

Ok I give up on the centre display.....Peugeot centre tried to repair it but it hasn't worked....they offered a money back deal so hopefully will be as good as their word. Bit the bullet amend ordered a new one out of frustration. Managed to find a main display...works fine but has 50,000 more miles than my car! Anyone know how to get it back to what it should be? Thank you.

IIRC the info is stored in a small EEPROM chip.
Need to desolder the chips in old and new cluster, then solder in the chip from your old cluster into the new. Or get a memory reader/programmer on the chip in the new cluster and alter the contents. Some info here.

Surface mount, but not the very smallest pin pitch, so looks decently doable if you've got a decent soldering pen/station and a clue about SMD soldering.
If you don't, find someone who has, not very hard to overheat the chip or pads/traces...

As to the value stored, don't recallif it was in miles or km, but remember someone mentioning that it was a factor of about ~1,6 out from what the display showed, so the stored value apparently doesn't change depending on if the car is in a mile or km countrym always uses the same internally independent of if the display is in miles or km..
