Hi guys.
I had the lower arms replaced on my 206 1.4 about 6 months ago after turning left became nigh on deadly, massive oversteer and really unsettling the car. All was well until I had my car aligned after I had new tires fitted. the slight pull to the left was gone but the dangerous handling is back. wasn't too bad at first but its getting worse and worse. Is there anything that could be causing them to wear out so fast or could it be something else in the suspension?

Most common is when you change the wishbone, as the old one was so worn out and loose it widens the hole in the hub carrier thats used to clamp it, then its a little too wide to fully clamp onto the new ball joint so is loose right away, also the rubber mounts on patent parts are horendously soft as s**t.
Track rods on the steering rack as well as the track rod ends can wear out, they are very easy to replace.

It was fine when they were replaced, it's only since getting it aligned with the new tires its happened which is the wierd thing. The track rod ends were done in november as I failed the mot because of them and emissions were too high (turned out to be the head gasket..... again)

The tracking is still out or you're tyre compounds are different?
The front tyre's direction is correct ?
Play in the track rod ends faulty parts/worn .
Diff failure .
Play in the steering rack.
Tyre pressure are both exactly the same?

Tracking is going back out now, starting to pull left.
Both the front tires are hankook kingery and the rears are whatever rubbish the previous owner put on it. Different treads.
Track rod ends were done in november but i'll have them checked again.
How could I test for diff failure?
Had a new steering rack when i brought it in may 2013
I check the pressures atleast every 2 weeks. 32 psi all round

I highly doubt the diff is worth looking into.
The tracking is out or there's play in something . .
Probably best to change the bushes in the lower arms to good solid rubber.
Wheel bearings have play?
One or both wheels are pulling you left is that on the power or just rolling?
Mine pulls a little on the power. Took me ages to get it perfect as possible .
Had it laser alignment done. Made it worse.
I tweaked about with the track rod ends.
Made sure I had new lower arms track rod ends pinch bolts in the bottom of the hub.
Now I've changed the gearbox it pulls the opposite way. ( new lower arm fitted on the passenger side)
I'm going to change the bushes in the lower arms, il find some rock solid rubber
I've found some black one on fleabay for motorsport.

The GTi ones are less flexible .. they probably fit the 1.4 as I can't see Peugeot making the two types different in dimensions .. but you might want to check.
Our 206CC ate the standard ones someone fitted before we bought it .. the proper GTi ones are much better and seem to be lasting (which is good news as they are my nemesis!)

Which part are you on about here? the lower arm?
I'll take it to the garage on monday and get him to have a look at the entire front suspension and rear (got a brand new rear axle in the shed just incase)
