Hello,

This is my first post on this forum and I'm certain somebody will have had this problems before, I purchased a 2004 Peugeot 206s (1400cc) for my partner last week, we weren't really looking for this particular vehicle but the history/mileage /price were excellent so ended up buying it. She has noticed however that there doesn't seem to be a noise coming from the indicator (the tick tock noise) or the hazard switch, I have also noticed that generally when you leave your lights on and open the door there is normally a warning sound omitted and other various sounds for seatbelts and things on most cars. Does the 206 come with this too and could this be related to the indicator noise not working?

Any help would be very much appreciated, this is my partners first car having just past her test and the indicator problem is really getting on her nerves.

Kind Regards
Wayne

I assume you mean the clicking noise in most cars? This is the mechanical sound of the contacts moving inside the relay switch. I'm guessing that there may be some relays in circulation that have been engineered to be quiet, which has been many years in the making. As long as the indicators are functioning and legal, I wouldn't be too concerned. If it really bother you though, try replacing the relay switch concerned.

My 206 has a noise when you leave the lights on or keys in the ignition so I guess this should be standard. It isn't the same as indicators or hazard lights though. This seems to be more of a speaker or buzzer type noise, so should be a different component. If you have a handbook, I should imagine it would be located in a fuse compartment somewhere.
