hi all, just got PP2000 to tryand sort out a non start situation. reads an engine ecu intermittent fault -ignition,integrated phase detection. ifi then go into PP further it is showing the info below on the power supply and immobiliser screen.
BATTERY ... 12.8V
CONTROL SUPPLY RELAY ... INACTIVE
STATUS OF THE ECU ... ECU LOCKED
STATUS OF CODED ENGINE IMMOBILISER PROGRM ... MATCHED ECU
PROBLEMS DETECTEDWHEN TRANSMITTING THE UNLOCK CODE....1,000000

I am assuming that the immobiliser is not turning off and that's why it wont start. it turns over as normal but wont fire and run. it just happened one morning, my daughter went to start it and it wouldn't fire up. had been running fine before with no problems. so my question is this, can a key suddenly lose its code, is the ecu faulty, can I re-initialise the key if that's the problem ( there's only one key ), I don't have the customer 4 digit security code. do I need to re code the key? or has anyone any other ideas about the non start problem.

Sounds like immobiliser, but your battery is low on volts as well be the looks.

if that only happen in the morning, and cold start,I would suspect the battery to be weak and on it's way out,if you got another car,try to swap battery for a test, then see how it goes.

I had a recurring symptom of a "Engine turns strongly but no start" on Pug 306 which was immobiliser related and was a simple poor electrical contact at the immobiliser ring around ignition barrel. Symptoms were- Once started it would be fine for the rest of the day with many no fault starts but the next morning- same again- engine turns but no start
PP was stating ECU locked

A clean with electrical cleaner spray on the connector solved it
