Hi all

I recently noticed that my GTI 180 consume more oil than usual. Its 105K miles right now.

I have not yet determined exactly the consumption, but I think its between 0'5-1 liters every 700 miles Shocked

Is there any known issue on these model that causes oil consumption by this mileage?

I've checked and:
-no leaks on the floor
-no white smoke on exhaust or opening oil cap

Might be valve seals or valve guides? Any way to confirm it, but without disassembly all engine?

Well, any info will be appreciated Smile

My 100KW GTI has the same issues with 90K miles. I'm having a valve job done and maybe some new rings when I do my 180 intake, TB/306RS cams mod. I'm hoping this will cure the oil consumption problem.

Is there any well known issue on the RFK or EW10 block engine regarding fading valve guides?

I hope not to be the first with +105K Laughing
