So I've just got a good condition 2nd hand colour matched front wing to replace the cheapo aftermarket that has rusted through. The 2nd hand wing also came with the side repeater attached but it's a frosted glass type and mine is a clear design so I will keep my original side repeater. I thought as the wing is out it will be a good opportunity to replace the repeater bulb with a new amber 501 as they do tend to go white over time and picked up at the MoT. Well I can't for the life of me see how you remove the bulb on the clear type repeater. The one that came with the 2nd hand wing simply twists to reveal the bulb. Are the clear type ones a complete sealed unit type - that seems ridiculous having to buy a complete side repeater just for the sake of a bulb that you can get for a few pence!

A sealed unit on the later models. I think they are about £5 from the dealers

You can't replace the bulb in the clear model, you need to have a whole new unit, and it's not expensive as long it help you with MOT Wink

Yeah I've just checked on eurocarparts and the clear glass type is just under a fiver so not too bad - still think it's daft to have to buy a complete unit for the sake of a bulb. My original is still working and flashing amber so will refit that and replace when it actually blows or changes colour.

You can get aftermarket clear ones with a separate bulb but just as cheap to buy the genuine part from the dealers
