Hi,
as title, both my front calipers are binding/sticking on.
On first start of the day all is good for approx 1/2 miles then i get a squeal from the front driver side then after a another couple of miles the brake peddle gets harder with very little travel and is very sensitive to pressure a little touch and the brakes are on full.............however when the squealing stops then i can feel the brakes are binding/sticking on and its harder to drive etc etc.
I stopped off at a national tyre outfit today who took a look and was able to release the pressure in the system by opening the caliper nipples so the wheels turned unrestricted. They went onto say it was either the brake bias valve or both front calipers at fault.
The car has had both new front flex brake hoses and a new master cylinder within the last 12 months and they said all of them are ok
My question is............... could the brake bias valve affect the front calipers??????
Hope someone can help.

Sounds more as if the brake fluid pressure isn't being released after the first application of the brakes rather than say a brake caliper sticking problem for once the tyre outfit had released the fluid pressure the wheels turned freely
Although you have had a new master cylinder I would suspect whether it has been installed correctly or is simply very stiff and is not allowing fluid pressure release after brake application. Did this happen straight after the master cylinder change? If so then simply take it back to them and tell them that the brakes don't release when you release the footbrake
Have you tried putting your foot under the brake pedal and pulling it up after the first application of the brakes to see if the master cylinder/pedal is physically sticking and not returning?
Are the brake lights staying on after the first application? Sign of a non returning pedal
Car model and year is always useful
Avoid driving it as much as possible until it's fixed as it will damage discs and pads etc

Car is a 206 1.4lx 2000 W reg.
Lights go out when peddle released,
Peddle does not appear to stick and I cannot raise it any higher with my foot underneath it.
Did not happen when master cylinder replaced but after new pads and discs and flex hose fitted,
I have a remanufatured calliper on the way to replace it with, do you think I should renew the flex hose as well for good measure????
I'm also contemplating if the servo may have broke a little?????? BUT I have done the "test" thing on it and seems to operate as it should?
Any all all help appreciated!
Thanks

As you've said that someone manually bleeding off the front caliper makes the brakes release and the caliper function normally in allowing the pads to retract then it still sounds to be a fluid and pressure non releasing problem (rather than a mechanical sticking of the pads in the calipers) but as it happened immediately after the replacement of the discs/pads and flexi hoses then that is obviously the area to question
If you have just front wheel ABS (as early Peugeot 306's did) then the ABS unit may not have been bled correctly after the job and the one way valves inside may be jamming the front brakes on after application
You can't mess about with brakes so I would advise taking it to a Peugeot specialist

New calliper sorted it out.
I'm that impressed I've ordered the nsf calliper too.
