Hey guys, I was attempting to change my windscreen wiper mechanism today, when I noticed something on my engine that worried me.
Just need someone to tell me what it is? can I replace it myself? etc. [Circled in red]
Also [Circled in blue] part of it seems to be held in with a cable tie, is that something to worry about.
Thanks.

It's only an oil breather, pretty common, they get brittle with heat & age to the point breathing on them can snap them.

As Above its the breather pipe.
Most people change them with silicone Hose as its normally cheaper than buying the genuine plastic piece and it lasts longer.
Think its 13mm id pipe that you need.

Cheers guys, Yeah it was brittle when I touched it.
it really smelt of fuel though, that's why I thought it was something more important, Is it ok to drive it like it is?

It wont do any damage but if you get the fumes in the car you might get a bit of a headache!
Car will also be running on a small amount of unfiltered air so ideally needs to be sorted.
