Hi guys, I'm looking for a bit of advise in pairing my new 2 button key fob to my 2006 plate sport 206.

At the moment I have 1 working key that does not have any remote central locking buttons. I have had the car for about 5 months and getting a bit fed up with manual locking. I purchased a 2 button fob which included, a blank ID46 circuit board, a virgin transponder (attached the board), and a key.

I have had the key cut and it works fine opening the door's I thought I was able to programme the key myself but after a lot of reading up I now realise I need Peugeot planet 2000 to do this, as far as am aware I should be able to just programme the remote central locking system and ignore the key / transponder which Is what am aiming to do.

Now my question is, can I put my original transponder in the new key and should this allow me to synchronize the PLIP? I will be happy with just 1 key as long as I can use the remote central locking.

I have spent all day trying to just get the remote central locking buttons to pair up with the car but my car is having none of it, I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if it was because the transponder hasn't yet been programmed,, Ive read about 3 different ways to synchronize the PLIP but neither have worked for me.

These methods talk about LED lights , which my key fob does not have any and also talks about a "little black button" and I have no idea what this is neither, am guessing the unlock button but cant be sure.

If anybody could guide me in the right direction to try get this resolved it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Craig

you cant reprogram any key or remote to the car without pp2000, you will also need the security code that came with the car on a card to enable pp2000 to actually do it too, if you dont have this code you can get it from any dealer for £20 and it costs them nothing, you will need your logbook for proof of ownership.

You could just remove the transponder chip from your key and tape it inside the steering column shroud so it will start regardless everytime.

Hi, thankyou for your reply,

I was always under the impression I was able to just program the remote side of the key.. Sad Take it am going to have to go the spend a lot more money. is their a service I could use to possibly send my key and they could reprogram the key using PP2000 instead of me buying the software?

many thanks

ALL the keys have to be programed to the car with Planet.

Get the security code, find someone with Planet & make sure you take ALL the keys with you.

Thanks for the clarification, after a phone call to stone acre I am able to got down with the log book and get the code FREE of charge apparently.

It's also £36 for them to programme the key for me just the remote central locking he said it will cost more for the transponder to be programmed.

Just need to find someone with PP2000 then?

This would most likely invalidate the insurance if the car was stolen

So I went down to stone acre and made a few enquiries. the guy has gave me the code for me vehicle. it was only 4 Letters that was a surprise to me I was expecting a long digit number. does this sound right?

I've also enquired about setting up the key fob and pairing it up with the car with them to which they said £36, I then asked will this also start the car and she said no and for the car to start I need the code.

I explained I had the code and the guy who gave me it also said that, and she said oh ok yeah that's fine we can do that as well in with the price.

I don't understand how she was going to pair the remote control fob without the code? if that is possibly why cant I do it?

Does anybody know of anybody who has Peugeot planet I could send the key too with my code for it to be programmed and how much am I looking at .

Thanks guys.

You CANNOT code the key away from the car!

You need the CAR connected to Planet, the security code & ALL the keys together to code.

The security code is a 4 digit alphanumeric code.

The land of the crap one way system near Morrisons. The number of crashes and near misses where the road narrows and then becomes 2-way again is unbelievable.

This is starting to get very irritating now :/

I've just had a auto locksmith programme the key I've purchased, he tested the key , The remote IR works find and the transponder was blank.

He programmed the key using the 4 digit security code. The key now starts the car fine.

I am still unable to get the FOB working he said something of maybe the key is a different Mhz to the car.

I've purchased a 433Mhz key this seems to be the most popular however their are some 434Mhz,

Does anybody know how I can find out if my car is a 434Mhz without buying a new key again? Or is their anything else that could be stopping me from programming the remote central locking?

thanks

Haven't had to mess with it myself, but from I've read here on the forum: You need the same model/version of the circuit board that the original key has/had. And there has apparently been 4 variants used by Peugeot, see Macca's post in the linked thread.
