Hi everyone,

I'm new here and don't know a lot about cars but here goes.

Around 3 months ago I had the stop light and oil light (plus bleeping) flash really fast so I pulled over. I managed to get home and had a mechanic look at it. He changed a sensor underneath the front bumper. He started the engine but the problem reoccured and said there's nothing wrong with the engine and the oil is fine.

The bleeping and flashing will only start after about 15/20 mins of driving and only when stationary on tick over (tick over is appox 800 RPM). Once I'm moving the bleeping/flashing goes or if I add pressure to the accelerator to bring over 900 RPM

Had a family member try and he read the ECU - but keeps saying "please wait"

Anyway a couple of days ago the Engine management light came on, I called kwik fit and they said bring in the next day.

The next day.......no management light but took to kwik fit anyway - tried to read the ECU to no avail. Said he couldn't do anything.

So today started the car and drove down the road and noticed every time I changed gear it would 'over rev'. Looked at the dash and noticed the engine management light and stop were showing. The 'stop' was constant and not flashing as usual.

So back to Kwik fit again with the hope that as everything (faults) are showing the ECU gadget might pick up a list of problems.......errrr nope. Again mechanic said can't do anything and best bet would be to take it to Peugeot and see if the ECU can be fixed and then the faults might appear.

What I paid for the car and the cost to fix are a no go so hoped that I could gain more info on what might be the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Someone on here might be near you with PP2000. This will be the best way to see what errors are coming up.
The reason that Kwik Fit probably couldn't find any fault, apart from them being s**t, diesels didn't become E-OBD compliant until 2004 so their equipment may not have been able to read the codes stored.
