So ive got a lovely hole in the pipe coming from my water pump on my 138, ive got a pipe on order and wondering if anyone has any tips for replacing it. It goes behind the exhaust manifold and i cant find any instruction on how to do it. ive read that removing the batt and box gives a bit more room to work but any tips/guides would be great.

Remove the thermostat housing too as that makes slotting it in place easier. Did you order new O rings too?

no, but they should have some there when i pick the pipe up. There any kind of guide to doing this or is it pretty straight forward? i assume i dont need to remove the exhaust manifold even though the pipe goes under it?
That is all.

Removing the battery and box definitely makes sense. Then it's a case of draining everything and then removing the 10mm bolt that clamps the pipe to the thermostat housing. If you take the thermostat housing off everything can be pulled out of the water pump in the same direction.

Obviously you need to take the hoses off the pipe and thermostat housing too.

Sounds pretty straight forward. No need to drain anything, due to a hole in the current hose it makes a puddle like an incontinent dog on the driveway everytime i fill it up.
That is all.

There any reason why the pipe i just picked up is metal but the one thats in there with a hole in appears to be rubber tubing? The dealer said they should all be metal unless someones done a both job on it at some point?
That is all.

Pipe = metal
Hose = rubber
You got a picture of the one you are replacing?

The marked one, seems to be a rubber hose that the hoses going to the heater matrix come off. The only similar one that pug could find is a metal replacement. Baffled.

That is all.

That pipe you've put the line on is metal. It's the black one across the back of the engine below.
