Ok so as some of you know my car was broken into recently. I have since replaced the glass and I have the new locks on order. Now my car hasn’t got an alarm fitted which I want to change. Now I could take it to someone to have one fitted but I don’t have the money to do that, I could buy an aftermarket alarm and fit it myself but it would be a pain in the backside.

So rather than fitting an aftermarket on I know the 206 did come with an alarm from the factory. If I acquired all the parts for the alarm like get them from a scrappy, could I just plug them in and off I go? One assume the loom would be the same for cost saving? What bits would I need? Just thoughts out loud. Worst case scenario I would buy an alarm kit and do it myself, just figured I would look at the easy route first.

Keep an eye on Ebay for the 206 multiplexed upgrade alarm kits - they do pop up from time to time.

These are pretty easy to fit, come with all the parts including the required wiring looms & work alongside the locking system from the original factory remote fob.

You would need to connect the car to Peugeot Planet to change the BSI configuration to activate it!

cheers guys, its as i thought. if i get the 206 alarm parts I can fit them myself. I was sceptical whether it would work straight off or whether i would need to use pp2000 or diagbox to activate it. Fortunately I have the hardware just never got the software to install. Will drop vortechs a text as I know he has pp2000.

Does anyone know what the kit actually contains? Im thinking a control unit, some ultrasonic sensors, a siren, a loom and maybe some door sensors?

The alarm kit has:

Bonnet sensor.
Battery back up siren.
Boot catch with built in sensor ( not required for a SW )
Ultrasonic sensors.
Ultrasonic disable button.
Flashing red led.
Control unit.

Also comes with the brackets & wiring looms required etc.

The alarm uses the same sensors already inside the door catches for the interior lamp & door ajar warning.

I did have a 206 multiplexed alarm retro fit kit a couple of years ago in my stock of 206 parts but another forum member had it of me when it became surplus to my requirements.

Thank you!

If I went to the scrappy and found a 206 with an alarm and then liberated the car of these parts... Paid for obviously and then fitted them to mine.
I would just need the bsi alarm function activating?

Technically yes - You would need to check which parts of the wiring loom you need to borrow as well.
