Problem: When you press the remote lock on your key, the car locks and immediately unlocks. Also when you close the door and start the car, the car thinks the door is open.

I had this problem for about a year and I thought I would share the solution. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures but will post some if I ever have to do my fix again.

Cause: Inside the lock are 2 positional sensors which are just contacts to indicate the door status. They are held in the home position by two long springs. These springs over time do not spring back to where they should and don't return the sensors to the home position.

Solution: I lost a spring and cut and stretched the last remaining spring and this fixed it.

Remove the lock.

Remove the light gray cover with a screwdriver. You can glue it back afterwards. When you remove it the motor will come with it.

Inside you will see a small white plastic compartment with two black sliders sticking out the top. These are the sensors.

Carefully remove the plastic top and remove sensors and their springs.

Stretch each spring by about 20%.

Reassemble and your problem is fixed.

Is there any way of turning off this sensor? For example taking a fuse out or cutting the wire?
