Hello,

I don't post often, but I always get good info when I do Smile

doing a service today as its been slightly missing once in a while nothing major.decided to do plugs, and noticed in No.1 (furthest from cam belt) there was about 1/4 of a teaspoon of oil in the plug hole,,the plugs are not fouled and all 4 are burnt lovely on the ends,i've had the car since new and 40 k on the clock.

I checked the rocker cover gasket and the oil breather pipe (runs directly above) and seems ok.

is there any other way this oil can reach the top part of the plug?

seems strange as the coil pack has a rubber cover when fitted to stop anything getting down

So my guess is there is a seal maybe in the head?

Thanks for any help, appreciate your time.

Hi,

Sorry for late reply.
I'm not sure what the cylinder liners are,but a internet search show something in the head.woyls they cause leaking from inside the head into the top part of the plug?

Defo not over spill from oil,if I did go over it would come forward due to the recess, but the cylinder the plugs fit in are raised slightly.,the oil is also old engine oil.not fresh.

Cheers for the replies so far.
