Just had a very successful conversation with DTA, who will be able to provide me with an ECU that can run fly-by-wire throttle!

Nice, one more step to see the first ITB powered GTi180 (this is starting to become a really long name xD ).

Haha it's going to be a very long winded experience!
I'm buying things step by step so I can pretend to myself it isn't costing as much as it really does!

Some minor bad news... Nobody will sell a DBW capable ECU for anyone building that into a road car, as Motec are being sued by someone who crashed and claimed the throttle stayed open when he didn't want it to!
So back to the drawing board, and will probably be looking at the cable set up again...

Great looking project there. It's going to be one sweet car when you've done.
Good luck with the project dude..

Cheers Luke, really annoyed about this whole ECU business, I was initially very relieved when I thought I wouldn't have to faff about reverting to cable throttle, hopefully by April/May when I buy my ECU things have may changed and I will be able to get one capable of FBW on a road car!

Just got off the phone to my supplier, my TB's will be here next week
Managed to wangle a cheeky bit of money off too, and I don't need some of the parts from the full kit so wasn't as expensive as I thought. Just need to hear back from Jenvey about my manifold now!

I won't be done for FCS mate, I'm hoping it will be ready for the 2011 season to be honest, get it all done next winter!
Still got more to buy! Cams, rods, maybe solid lifters if I can afford them...

carbon fibre!!! you know it makes sence! lol
if you've already got carbon under the bonnet then i's say the carbon ones. if not, maybe the aluminium one but give them a really good polish.

I might just stump up and kiss my next student loan goodbye.
Only thing is I have loads to pay for...
Nurburgring, Ecu, cams, brakes, probably more wheels...
Can I really justify £220 on CF trumpets?
