how did it go anyway?? who all showed up?

there was another meet with the PSOOC yesterday that G organised. so the attendance would have been split.

and i doubt very much that anything will be organised for next month if there was the same interest as this month.

mitch, dont organise another meet.

if someone wants one bad enough, then THEY can organise it.

im just sick to the back teeth of people moaning that there arent any meets, or when there are meets, theyre interested and just dont bother their a*** showing up.
fair enough, most of us have excuses. the likes of twed, brian and graham were at the PSOOC meet, andy's car isnt finished, chris's cars engine has died (and he secretly wants to just get rid of it and get a honda), it was my birthday (and had a house full), tango-tony was working.

so if anyone wants a meet, let them sort it.

barely anyone is putting names down for the summer meet. this time last year, there was almost a full list (about 20-30 names)

andy, the thread was started about 6 weeks ago. lol. Razz

and to be honest, the meets that have been organised, there have been little or no interest.

if you want to have a go at organising a meet, by all means. maybe get the heads together and come up with something.

Listen guys, there's no point in organising a meet anymore, I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Trying to find free, half-decent places is a nightmare. Ive looked all over Scotland, and there's nothing cheap to do that isnt boring, or will start to get boring..... the transport museum was good, but there was hee-haw to do, apart from look at cars that dont even run.

Ive met alot of great people, still keep in close contact with Wullie and Tom, but i can guarentee the site will never be the same as it was before. Meet wise - I know how much of Wullie's time has been spent trying to get this meet organised, and from where its standing, there's not many people enthusiastic about it..... 206's are hardly made anymore, some 09 plates on the roads, and everyone is upgrading and drifting away from the site.

Dont be disheartened from anything off the site, everyone is still in close proximity to each other... apart from Tom Laughing , so a wee get together on the town might be a better idea, I know a few people will definatley be up for this, so if anyone feels like doing something, send a wee PM across to the members you want to get together with, might be the safest bet Wink

Haha, I would have been there mate. But travelling 100miles there and then back is a pain in the a**e for every meet! Wink ...

Mitch - I do love you! Wink Shame the meets aren't eorking out. Maybe next when there hasn't been one for a while the interest might shoot up again. I slightly disagree with your point though. There are over 2000 members here so the 'following' is still there. People just don't want to meet up. The last scottish meet did not even represent 0.5%, The summer meet only represents about 0.33% so far. And the FCS meet/stand is only representing about 3% of the site. People want the advice, but most aren't interested in meets.

Wagsy - Bad times tbh! Would love top see more people get involved in the summer meet Wagsy. It has huge potential, just alot of people just can't be bothered to travel. At the end of the day we are meant to be a community, maybe set a limit on the people for the summer meet. As it is a bit silly at the moment. Most of the members going are from Scotland/Northern areas. If no-one wants to go from further south then cancel it and move it somewhere closer than the current four hours away? It doesn't bother me travelling, but as above, if most of the members are nothern/scottish. Whats the point?

I’ve only been to 1 meet and that was when I first got the 206 modified by Ecosse and it was a long way to drive from mines to Braehead to stand about. I know 206Info is about meeting like minded people when it comes to cars etc but to me the meets are about showing off your pride and joy (as it is a car site after all) but if im honest and im not wanting to sound up myself but there isn’t really many 206’s on here that appeal to me as the majority of them are standard or have the usually 180 alloys / nimrods and GTi spoiler. I know people probably have other things to spend their money on than modifying their 206’s but it would make the meets a whole lot more interesting if people were attending to see 206’s with bodykits, engine mods, some trick mods but on the whole just something different to the usual. That’s what makes car shows appeal to people because they can see something out of the ordinary.

This is only my opinion and not wanting to offend anyone

mitch, i see your point man. if anyone is interested in a meet, start PM'ing everyone to see what interest we get. and as for the whole moving on thing, graham had his 306 HDI and was still regularly posting here, i now have my accord and im on this more than honda-tech, and the accord owners club.

its only 13 weeks till the summer meet, and there's still barely any interest in it. its really dis-heartening when you try to organise something like this and you get barely any interest. this time last year, there were between 20 and 30 names on the list. and everyone was talking about how they couldnt wait for it.
i think this will be my last ever 206info meet. its rapidly went downhill meet-wise.
