She passed her exams! well, mot.

Unfortunately it comes at a cost of £180 but nevermind, not bad considering.
She tried her best to fail...both handbrake cables snapped on the rollers!
So it's now fitted with the blackdiamond brakelines, new balljoints, new handbrake cables and a few other bits and pieces.
As i'm a tight git, looks like the new seats will have to wait!
All I need to do now is go pick it up, bring it home (the long way round) and give it a wash.

Keeping my mechanic busy tho, dropping off the Corolla to have an oil flush and oil/filter change plus a good look at my brakes.
Looks like he'll be having a decent holiday this year!

Given it a quick wash and aquawax, changed the wheels to some more appropriate tyres and given it a vac out.

new flexis are nice too.

Brilliant, first enthusiastic drive and my first problem. Heavy braking now causes the rears to lock up. bias valve?

It was originally fitted but its not been wired in for years.
I thought i'd found it, just infront and above each rear caliper there's a block that the main brake lines feed into, which then goes to a spring and pivot arrangement which the rear flexi comes out of.
I appreciate a picture would be great but i've already dropped it off at my mechanics.

The cars been sat in a barn since my last post, been too idle to sort the braking problem. Finally found the motivation to get on with it and i've narrowed it down to either knackered pads or a tired master cylinder.
I've ordered a new set of yellowstuff (£66 larkspeed) so we'll see how it goes, if it needs a master cylinder well ive got a spare set of pads if nothing else.

Next job after the braking issue has to be a new set of fixed back seats then back track daying over winter.

I have always used yellowstuff on this car, value for money vs performance, in my opinion, can't be beat.
Definately no need for bigger brakes, the cars light and the combination of the discs pads and fluid I use have never lead to brake fade. Also, I like to really brake hard on track so having big brakes that lock easier (no abs) would not really match my driving style. So long as they dont fade, I wont upgrade.
