Just looking at replacing the rear tyres on the 206 so looked at Nationwide Autocentres on the internet...
2 x Continental 20545R16 83W Sport Contact 2 as an example...
£191.86 at Nationwide
£176.20 at Mytyres....
So £15 difference and the Mytyres price doesn't include fitting either...it's just not worth buying them mail order anymore.

I've found that E-tyres & Blackcircles are usually good prices.

Try BlackCircles, get some prices and then call the garages they use for fitment and see if they can get them for you any cheaper. Last time I bought from BlackCircles the garage fitting them said the could have saved me another £30 on the total bill if I'd bought direct from them!

tbh I found Continental tyres to be so-so. I am not a fan of hard-rubber tyres - granted they last longer, but noise and steering feel suffer.
Maybe a more sport-inspired tyre Edward? Seeing how you only do 1000 miles a year is there any point in buying such expensive tyres?
Pirelli/Toyo/Yokohama [soft rubber] would be a better choice?

Ideally I'd like the Sport Contact 3. It came out top of the class in the EVO tyre test this year. I'm not sure that they do them in the 205/45/16 size though.
I still want a decent tyre even if the car is hardly used. Yokohama has a good reputation but some of their tyres don't perform particularly well in magazine tests.

Have you tried camskill tyres..?
Pirelli P Zero Neros in that size are £78.00 a corner + delivery which is a tenner for how ever many items you order.
correction they're £70.00 each. The Sport Contact 2 are £82.40. and delivery is £4.98.

I'm biased, but I love the spec 2s - had the nero zeros and they were shocking and didnt last even half as long as these have.
Mind you as always it's how you drive/down to the individual

Check out Camskills, thats where i always get mine and the Mrs tyres from, same sort of prices as Blackcircles. Some things are cheaper, some things are a little more expensive, swings and roundabouts.

P Zeros are a soft compound tyre which is why they don't last as long but they perform alot better then Parada Spec 2 and T1-R.
I'd still rate my Contact 2 over anything I've had in a while. Awesome in the dry and just as good in the wet.

I have Sport Contact 2's. I would highly reccommend them, although i do love the tread pattern on my Spec 2's!
The Sport Contact 3's have a similar tread pattern, my dad has them on his Vetra.

The Paradas are on every boy racer car these days. The Sport Contact tyres are fitted to alsorts as an O.E fitment so they must be ok. They're on my Jetta and the 207CC too.

As I said, down to the individual. I rate the spec 2's above the zeros, I found they gave me more grip + control and they've doubled the miles the neros did (and I've had no problems with them in the wet and snow).

,
Most likely down to the tread pattern more than anything else (wonder if we should develop some with a lightening or flames pattern, they might be s**te but I bet they'd sell!)
