Hey guys just thinking about things to do to car e.t.c and was just thinking,
How far do you go on a 1.1 or is it not a big deal?

Do you spend £'s is it worth it? im not talking about engine tuning.

For E.G would you spend the money on air ride for example on a 1.1 or a 1.6?
Maybe its just me but i always seem reluctant with some things, as in the back of my head i'm thinking its a 1.1 and is gutless. But its just an engine.

What do you guys think?

depends on what you want to do with it. if u go full euro, air ride would really help. dont need the massive engine to back up the looks as youd be driving slow anyway.

ultimatly its up to you. can always do engine swap later.

you can mod it or you don't.
But at the end of the day alomst everything can be changed, so if you do spend ££££ on it, the you could change the engine too, then it wouldn't be just a 1.1 Razz

Meh, i've just done visual mods for cheap insurance, so it looks fast even though it isn't. Eventually i'll have enough cash to upgrade.

Ok basically what im trying to say is, is it worth spending hundreds of pounds styling the car to look the bollox in the lowest spec model engine.

Just looking for some other guys views on the topic.

Financially no, of course it isnt.

Its the same with my 1.6 though, I do it because I want to not because im gonna get anything back from doing it.

I cant afford another car so im gonna make this one how I want it Smile

Dunno about other people but for me its purely because a) im 18 with a claim and cant afford to insure bigger engines and b) its the car i have i cant afford an upgrate YET so i will do what i can to make my car look how i want it to Smile

Its not about getting anything back financially or value wise, the reward is the satisfaction, peoples comments, friends you make etc. Its a hobby

Sums it up really, its the satisfaction you get out of planning it, saving up for it and admiring it when its done. If you want it, style it up! Ignore the 8v hate train

Go for it. Its a hobby and it brings enjoyment. sure you are not going to get your money back but its cheaper than buying another car. For what I can afford nothing comes close to my 206. it may only be a 1.1 but its not the slowest 206 going

if your going to get a higher spec 206 for your next car you can always swap the parts onto it, but its up to you spending money on it i did it to a 1.4 because i like modding my car not for any financial gain

I agree, doing what makes you happy at the end of it all.

Just wondered what your thoughts were on the topic.
