does anyone know if the multiplex cars have a signal booster built into the arial as standard

I thought it was built into the stereo, as when I 'upgraded' to an Alpine unit my radio reception got worse.
You can buy a booster that plugs into the back of the HU for £5~
Edit: I'm thinking of my Fabia.
I had a stubby ariel from a 907 (Something like that) on my 206 but only for a week, the reception was terrible!

What aerial have you got? its not a w**ky bee sting one is it?
The connection secure on the rear of the headunit?

i arial is at the front a 5 door preplex if i go about 20 mile from wear i live it goes terible i have replaced the arial wire twice n it doesnt make a difference plus i have the £5 booster which doesnt work either
