as said already. just take it a bit steadier. when there's a bit of snow around find some space and practise locking the rear axel up and correcting the resulting slide....

dont spin the wheels, and try and keep as much mometum up as possible, as said if it snows hevey you will slide, the 206 is preety good in the snow though, if you have got wide rims might be worth getting a narrower set or steelies for the winter.

the most important rule of all.... if you get stuck build a snowman.
i was told to let a bit of air out the tyres not loads but it does help a lil, think somthing to do with surface area?

When driving in snow or ice, handle your car controls like you should a good women. Caress them slowly & tentatively taking your time, don't just prod & bang away at them trying to get there as quick as you can!

Just drive slower and make sure you have essentials in the boot. As said before AA/RAC membership is a pretty good idea, well worth it as its only like £15 a month. But aslong as you take it steady you should be ok. Lets just hope we dont have another winter like last!
Just out of interest are 206's much good in bad weather? i got in Feb this year so the worst of the snow was gone by then.

Have a go at this; better in back wheel drive but you can still have some fun in a 206 
The Scandinavian flick is a technique used in rallying. While approaching the corner you apply a slight steering input to the opposite direction of the corner, then steering into the corner, while sharply lifting off the throttle and (in some cases, depending on speed and type of layout) lightly applying the brakes. This will cause the car to slide sideways facing slightly away from the turn. Then steering input is applied towards the corner and as the driver releases the brake pedal while still holding down the throttle the car will slingshot itself around the corner to the desired direction.  Countersteering will again be required to control the induced oversteer.

My pug was great in the snow, very easy to correct in a slide and
Everything BUT if you have a gti or sp fuel cap change it to te standard one because it will freeze everytimr you go to fill up and the keys can snap easily so pour hot water or a hot flannel over the cap and itl be fine

If the up coming winter is going to be as bad for you as the last one was I really REALLY suggest you buy some winter tires. I was completely surprised watching videos of cars sliding and skidding all around on an inch or two of snow. I even asked on here whats wrong and they informed me that most people are driving on summer tires.
Anyways they really do make a big difference. But the other really important thing is a relaxed non aggressive driver. You won't get anywhere by just flooring, that will only achieve two things: you'll dig in and form a patch of ice under your tires. If you get stuck, gently rock front to back do not just attempt to get out in one try. Put it in second gear, slowly applying power and releasing the clutch, when you fell it slipping push the clutch back in and let it swing back then repeat the previous movement until you're out. Its just like riding a swing, you can't get to the top in one try 
Also take into consideration that the braking distances are massively increased so don't speed and keep the safety distance.. The hardest thing is watching how you're approaching some one else and just can't stop..bloody slow motion horror film.
As for other equipment buy some snow socks just in case (especially if you're going to use summer tires), have a blanket, a few warm clothes (and socks, trust me on this one) and a small shovel in the boot. Oh and a tow rope (its hard for someone to tow you out without one). Also don't drive around on reserve fuel, if you get stuck in the cold you're f*cked. Seriously.
Oh and a photo from last year and a year before just to be clear where this is coming from 
BTW it handles okay in the snow, just take it easy, slow and take care of yourself

Mine handled great in the snow last year! worst thing that happened was when i was turning a corner, was going a bit too fast and hit some black ice... started going sideways and couldnt do anything about it! Ended up going over the road, up the curb and stopped literally 3 inches from a big cast iron type fence! Have to say.. i absolutely cr***ed myself as I'd never experienced that before!

Well last year was my first winter... The worst luck. & to make it worse I had to be up 4 times a week to take my mum to work at half 5 in the morning. & I did crash once, didn't even slide... as some people think is inevitable.
So my advice is... pull off very slowly, change gear very slowly. & DO NOT be worried about going 30 mph if you can't see/there are lumps of snow everywhere. Everyone else who's sensible will be doing the same thing! If you feel the tyres spin slightly when you're going along, just slow down. When approaching something like a roundabout... do not brake until you have to. Change down through the gears, this will slow you down a lot, then you will only need to brake gently & a little bit. For god's sake do not brake sharply, do not think you're better than everyone else & you can beat the snow.
& remember, Ice is just as dangerous.
You're better off in a 206 than something like a BMW anyway... Front wheel drive rules in snow!
