Anyone used Kwik Fit for their free brake check?
I think I need pads, but I have no idea what type/make of pads I need and I don't really have anywhere suitable to change pads myself.
I've got the car booked in for the free brake check on Sunday - there's no obligation to buy anything from them so I figured why not.
I just have a sinking feeling that they're gonna try and rip me off if I go there, but I really need my brakes looking at!
(on a separate note, do I have ABS? - 2006 1.6 16v Sport).

Dont go to Kiwk Fit for anything, you will pay alot more than any other garage! Try to find a smaller local garage, it will be alot cheaper. Maybe get the the pads yourself? that will probably be cheaper.

i went kwik fit for a free pad check and ended up paying £25. was told they cleaned it fronts only. as i have drums on back. but invoice was billed as break check @ £25!
i agree. buy parts and get local garage to fit. if you dont know spec . go to eurocarparts type in vin number/reg plate. most local motor factors will be able to trace correct part from your reg plate/vin plate

They'll try alright mate, I bet you end up needing something like new pads front & rear. But as your discs are below wear limits they won't replace pads on their own without replacing discs as it's their policy due to safety. If you can't afford it they'll offer you their kwik fit card at about 30%.
Go to a local garage, & take someone that knows a bit about cars.
Your car should have ABS, check your instrument panel for the light.
