Pro Tip: playing in the fusebox in the dark with a dodgy torch = bad.
I'm not sure how it happened but the Fuse for the BSI, a 5A one in slot 5 had got moved to the spare slot 4. Not sure how I managed to do that as the light fuses are 2 rows down and are 10A ones. But for some reason I must have taken that one out to test it. I know I took it out after the thing wouldn't start, but before that is beyond me.
Anyway, the thing fires now and everything works. I'm glad nobody answered the phone at the garage yesterday meaning I was waiting for Monday to ring back
Cheers for your help on this one guys. o/

Have you definately not flooded the engine mate, you havent started engine on a cold morning then changed your mind and turned it straight off because that can flood the engine.

I had a starting problem when I shorted the boot light by accident, it blows the one of the fuses which is linked to the fuel pump. Stupid really but always worth checking.

At the end of the coil pack there is a little cap. if you take that off and try to start it a bit of petrol should squirt out. this will confirm the car has fuel and its the immobilisr stopping the car from starting. |
I think you mean the fuel rail and it's in the middle. Pressing the schraeder valve will just confirm there is fuel in the rail. It won't show if it's under pressure and it won't prove if the injectors are firing or not.

I did mean the rail. I realise now that I was a bit out. That was some time ago
