The GTi 180s have Curtain airbags which are up the A-Pillar and partically along the top of the roof. But if the batterie's been disconnected correctly then you should be fine.

They'll go up round the top of the window, as curtain airbags are to protect your head in a side impact, they explode like this

If you have airbags, you'll have 'Airbag' or 'SRS' stamped into it.

Curtain airbags run along the top edge of the roof from front to back, hidden behind the headlining.
