hey all. as some already know i own a Y reg 2001 1.4 206 LX

as its getting REAL cold where i live -12 etc i want to top up my antifreeze to be sure it wont freeze. i havnt done this before on this car though and i dont know what sort of antifreeze is already in there. blue, pink etc?

i dont want to mix them as i know this is bad

anyone have any idea what type of antifreeze is likely to be in the coolant?

Has it frozen yet? If not, there's no need to do anything, especially as it has already reached -12C.

Honestly didn't know that, tbh wouldn't it be easier if you checked the colour? Oh and if it smells..

if you mix OAT (pink) antifreeze with traditional blue stuff it turns your coolant to brown sludge apparently lol. i cant see into the header tank very well to see what colour it is lol

Dip the expansion tank with an antifreeze tester, that will soon show the level of protection & also the colour.

I agree the headers are not in a good place. Get a length of clear tubing and syphon some out into a jar to see the colour.
