All fixed now.

Managed to get enough access by just removing bumper from driver side and all the front bolts. Although the bolt behind the headlamp had me struggling for 2 1/2 hours on Saturday. Bloody thing was rusty so just kept turning the square head in the plastic bumper. In end took me and a neighbour to snap the bolt!

Sorry have no suggestions how to fix your horn problem.
but dont you think GTI's have the Gayest sounding horns. If I beep at someone cutting me up, it just comes out pathetic.

Hi all,
Welcome to all from a newbie on this forum - though on my third Pug now.
First was a green 504 Familiale, back in Germany in the 70's, then a nice little (green), 206 Roland Garros 1.4 from May this year until last week - at which point I bought Another green 206 Roland Garros (WW1 fighter aircraft machine gun interruptor gear inventor), with the 1.6 DOHC 16v engine, from 2003 and in excellent condition.
It's a super little car to drive and while the ECU is too old for a re-map, it will benefit from a stainless exhaust, hi-flow cat, K&N and better plugs - but there is one other issue... The horn is a bit feeble.
I do have a spare Stebel Nautilus, which will be a straight replacement if I can easily get to the old one, but can this be done at the roadside without taking wheels off, or would it be better if I can get it up on a lift for an hour? Any advice from other 206 tweaked...?
Many thanks,
Autolycus,
Christchurch,
Dorset.
