anyone have knowledge of auto boxes?
i work in the trade but we ship all our gearbox work out i can get my head round manual boxes there easy but i will admit i dont know very much about autos and dont really know where to start
got a 1.4 auto 206 i use daily i was driving home from work fine stopped and some traffic lights then when i pulled away the revs went up and it was like the gearbox was slipping kinda like when u slip the clutch on a manual it would move if i revved it loads but very slowly i then lost forward drive but reverse still would and does work fine
(did get some funny looks when i spun it round in a junction and reversed half a mile home )
have checked oil thats ok
done some data checks and a fault code read with the diagnostic software from work and came up with the following
fault code 146 noise on gearbox output signal
i also noticed that the transmission output signal was giving a desired output reading but the actual output reading was zero
can anyone throw anylight on exactly whats wrong and how i would go about fixing it??
i expect its gonna be a case of taking all the mods off it and scrapping it because itsnot worth spedning much money on but if its something fairly cheap and straight forward its worth messing about with it

See if your trade connections work at the local Peugeot main dealer.
The AL4 suto box has had several mods done to it over the years

No recalls, more technical service bulletins

AL4 is very picky on gear oil, it can only be LT 71141. using other oil is just asking for trouble
