well i managed to go get the car on saturday night instead of tonight as planned.i picked the car up in linlithgow and had a good drive back just trying to work out where everything was.but the drive back was still good,i was well chuffed
in comparison to the 106 and punto that i've been driving for last 4 mnths the car pulls like a train from low down and you don't need to come down the box all the time like the others.
a perfect description would be it's like when i had my old nc30 400 bike, the punto and 106 was like that.you had to keep the momentum going all the time to get anywhere, the revs up and constantly up and down the box whereas my zx9r was the complete opposite.you could leave it in 6th all day long and almost be lazy.that's what the gti is like and i'm loving it.
obviously for £400 it ain't perfect, but it's a steal.the exterior has a small dent on the n/s front wing and there is some flaking by the side skirt at the front.other than that the exterior is pretty sound and it looks the part.the air con makes a noise sometimes but i just switch it off so problem solved.the oil temp gauge is temperamental and the odometer display is not working....might be a fuse or something easy to fix but i'm sure someone on here can help
i thought the steering felt a little vague at times,it's the same with the 106 and i was thinking it was me just needing to get use to the car as i've not been behind the wheel for long in it but it could be the track rod ends needing attention.but i'll have a right good look and see if anything jumps out at me.
i'll get some pics up when i get a chance....
